                                    If you are a first-time CWLP customer wishing to obtain service, at least two business days before you need service to begin, apply in person to the:

                                    Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and call-in hours are 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, excluding major holidays.
                                
                                
                                    
                                        New Service Requirements
                                
                                
                                    Applicants for new service must meet requirements to initiate service including:
                                    
                                        - must be 18 years of age or older or provide proof of emancipation or marriage
- must provide proof of ownership of or the lease agreement to the property that will be receiving service
                                            - will be required to pay a service deposit if they are first-time applicants or if they are previous CWLP customers who have failed to pay for service in a timely manner. 
                                            (Contact the Customer Service Office for exceptions to this rule.)
- The amount of the service deposit for residential customers is $50. The amount of the service deposit for commercial (nonresidential) customers must be no less than 
                                            the equivalent of two months’ worth of the customer’s average utility charges. In the absence of a billing history on which to base the deposit amount, the minimum starting 
                                            deposit will be $75 for water-only customers, $200 for electric-only customers, and $250 for electric-and-water customers. Nonresidential customer accounts will be reviewed 
                                            within the first six months of service and adjusted as necessary to ensure a sufficient deposit level is maintained.
- must provide two forms of identification, at least one of which must bear a photograph of the holder (e.g., driver's license, state ID card, FOID card, passport). Non-photo IDs can include Social Security cards and credit cards
- nonresidential accounts must provide Federal Tax Identification Number

- upgrade of electric service in an existing commercial facility
- construction of a new residential facility requiring 400 or more amps of service
- upgrade of an existing residential facility requiring 400 or more amps of service

                                    If you are a current customer who is moving to another location within CWLP's service territory, you can transfer your service to your new address and update contact information a few ways. The best way to help you change an

                                    CWLP accepts credit card, debit card and e-check bill payments made by telephone. Convenience fees are applied to payments made using a credit card or e-check. 
                                    Phone payments can be made by calling the CWLP Customer Service Office at 217.789.2030. Have the name and service address, as well as your nine-digit CWLP 
                                    account and eight-digit CWLP customer numbers, which can be found in the upper left-hand corner of your bill ready.
                                    
                                    
                                    CWLP will accept credit or debit card payments from Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. You will need to provide your 16-digit card 
                                    account number, expiration date and security code (the three digit number found on the back of the card).
                                    
                                    
                                    To use the e-check option, you must have an active checking account. CWLP will electronically transfer the amount of your payment from your checking

                                        Contractor Service Hookup
                                
                                
                                
                                    For installations in the CWLP service territory, all electrical contractors and electrical installers are required to follow the guidelines set forth in CWLP's Rules and 
                                    Specifications for Electric Service. This manual, commonly referred to as the "Blue Book," includes CWLP's requirements and costs for residential, commercial and industrial 
                                    electric service installations. Among the topics covered in the manual are: electric metering, application for electric service, relocation of CWLP electric facilities, supplemental 
                                    electrical facilities, voltage regulation, net metering and interconnection, use of generators, temporary service, permanent service, electric
