Help celebrate 90 years of Lake Springfield! Share your favorite memories, scenic shots, and moments of joy on and around the lake. Whether it’s a sunrise on the water, a family picnic, fishing with friends, or historic photos from years past — we want to see how you Love the Lake. The first 100 submissions that have their photos selected will earn a pair of CWLP summer fun sunglasses!
Submission Deadline: Tuesday, July 8, 2025
Who Can Enter:
• Open to all individuals — amateur or professional photographers.
• Must be 18 years or older or have guardian permission.
• Photos must be taken at or around Lake Springfield, Illinois.

What to Submit:
• Up to 5 photos per person that show how you “Love the Lake.”
• Photos can be current or historical (include year or approximate decade if known).
• Acceptable subjects include:
- Recreation (boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, etc.)
- Nature and wildlife
- Family and community moments
- Historic events or structures
- Scenic or artistic lake views

Submission Specifications:
• High-resolution digital files only (max. 5 photos per submission - no larger than 10 MB).
• JPEG or PNG format preferred.
• No watermarks, logos, or borders.
• Light editing is acceptable, but excessive filters or AI-generated images will not be accepted.

What Not to Submit:
To maintain the integrity of the event and respect community values, we will not accept:
• Images containing nudity, violence, offensive gestures, or illegal activity.
• Images with prominent branding, advertisements, or political messaging.
• Images violating someone else’s copyright or containing recognizable individuals without permission.

Photo Release & Copyright:
• All individuals must sign a Photo Release Form granting:
- Non-exclusive rights for the City of Springfield and event organizers to use submitted images for promotional purposes, social media, and display in the 90th Anniversary Photo Collage.
- Permission to exhibit, publish, or archive the photo in future lake-related communications or exhibits.
- Photographers retain full copyright of their images.
- If individuals are recognizable in the photo, the photographer must have obtained their permission (or guardian's permission for minors).

Selected Photos Will:
• Become a part of Lake Springfield’s 90th Anniversary Photo Record and may be exhibited and published for future use.
• May appear on official City of Springfield platforms and printed materials.
• Be credited wherever possible, though space limitations may apply in the final collage format.
