Two minute survey requests information for identifying
water connections and backflow devices.
City Water, Light and Power is conducting its tri-annual State-mandated cross-connection (backflow) survey to help identify where non-potable water could enter the public system. Information on the surveys is included in the May CWLP bill statements.
This survey, even for those without a lawn irrigation system or a pool, asks for confirmation of certain types of water connections.
“Protecting Springfield’s water supply is one of our most important responsibilities, and this survey helps us identify potential cross-connections before they become a problem,” said Mike Johnson, CWLP General Superintendent of Water Engineering & Distribution. “The survey only takes a couple of minutes to complete, and the information customers provide plays an important role in maintaining safe, reliable drinking water for the entire community.”
