Springfield, Ill. – For Lake Springfield’s 90th year, the City of Springfield and City Water, Light and Power (CWLP) invited the public to take part in the celebration by sharing their favorite lake memories, scenic shots, and joyful moments spent in and around the lake. Selected entries are now featured in a special 90th Anniversary photo video celebrating the community’s appreciation and the beauty found at Lake Springfield. Over 100 photos were submitted sharing sunrises, sunsets, fishing between generations, boating, family gatherings and more.
Mayor Misty Buscher thanked those that submitted photos in the Love the Lake challenge. “Thank you to all who participated in beautifully commemorating Lake Springfield with their special memories, captured moments and stunning scenery,” said Mayor Misty Buscher. “The collection of photographs showing some past and present of Lake Springfield is special and unique. I hope it inspires more people to enjoy our Lake Springfield.”
